We’re so proud of our team which recently took on the gruelling Lake District leg of the Race the Sun Challenge in aid of children’s charity Action Medical Research.
Our good friends - Baz, Rick, Mike and Steve - took part in the triathlon style adventure challenge, where teams of four attempted to cycle, climb and canoe over some of the region’s toughest terrain, starting at sunrise and aiming to finish before sunset in an epic race against the sun.
The team cycled over 50 miles, hiked over 3000ft to the summit of Helvellyn - England’s second highest mountain - then canoed a 3km course across Thirlmere, earning themselves a highly respectable 5th place finish.
Their incredible efforts were all in aid of Action Medical Research, a charity which saves and changes children’s lives through medical research and has been doing so for over 60 years. Through research Action Medical Research has been funding the research that has resulted in breakthroughs such as the first polio vaccines in the UK, pregnancy ultrasounds and the rubella vaccine helping to save thousands of children’s lives as well as changing many more in the process.
